Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1972 Oldsmobile 442 recalls can be found in this database. Additional Description: Here's the end of a very legendary era. This 1972 Oldsmobile 442 is a real-deal W30 car that celebrates the final year of this muscle car look and droptop style. And since it's a high-performance 455 big block machine with four-on-the-floor, this well-restored convertible has an appeal that's as clear as black and white. The color coordination on this car is a masterstroke. After all, it has the same appeal as a tuxedo, which is exactly what you want on an upper-class muscle machine. While it was born this way, it looks so great today after a five-year restoration that was completed in 2006. And the reason why someone would spend this kind of time and money on this car is because you have genuine rarity. 1972 is the final year for this legendary generation of Cutlass, and this is one of only 113 real-deal W30 convertibles. Bright Cameo White paint makes the crisp sheetmetal look sophisticated. This is mixed with the aggression of the dual hood scoops, hood locks, and notches in the rear bumper to cradle the large dual exhaust tips. The full black stripe package does a great job of highlighting all of this aggressiveness, including the drawing extra attention to the flared fenders. It's a highly correct and attractive package, right down to the Super Stock wheels. The black convertible top harmonizes with the exterior accenting for a well-coordinated look. And if you like that, then with the flip of a switch, it powers down for even more distinction you'll love. After all, we all love black interiors on muscle cars, and this one really does it right by always keeping a well-coordinated total appearance. This is a highly original and well-preserved interior. So you'll love pieces like the intricate stitching of the seats and the premium wood-like paneling. Even the AM radio is still cranking out tunes! But what makes this 442 truly awesome is how it remains a driver's machine. It feels great to slip into the bucket seat, grab the Olds sports steering wheel, and a gaze at the round gauges with large speedo and tach. That last one is especially useful with the Hurst shifter. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see: 455 cubic inches of big block muscle. With a solid investment here, it looks show-ready with the bright blue block, matching valve covers, and glossy air element that gets fresh air from the hood scoops. This block is a replacement that was rebuilt using the Factory 442 top end. So you get power and originality while also not being concerned with a factory block's first few years as a blacktop burner. Even the original Olds snowflake intake, air intake, and exhaust manifolds come with the sale. The proper Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor gets extra help from an Edelbrock aluminum intake. This exhales with added power and authority as Hooker long tube headers feed the dual exhaust. So that means extra power and extra thunder, and best of all, you have complete control it all with the four-speed manual transmission. Easy to enjoy everywhere this 442 convertible is aided with power steering, w/discs up front, and sway bars front & rear. Complete with the original warranty card and owner's manual, this is true rarity presented with a regal look. It's all part of a powerful muscle machine!
